Florida is the best place for entrepreneurs
With resources like the SBDC at USF, the Manasota SCORE chapter and CareerSource Suncoast’s CEO Program, the Suncoast is known for birthing new entrepreneurs. A recent survey confirmed that Florida is the best state for entrepreneurship.
The Digital Project Manager looked at eight factors before awarding the state of Florida its highest score at 65.12. Georgia was in second place, nearly six points behind Florida. Michigan, Oklahoma and Montana rounded out the top 5.
“These start-ups have the highest number of jobs created in the first year, with 6.53 jobs created for every 1,000 of the population,” the Digital Project Manager says. “With 13,238 small businesses per 100,000 of the population, this is the most in any state. Floridians have an entrepreneurial mindset that doesn’t only benefit themselves but their communities with the jobs that they create.”
