In coordination with the state of Florida, Sarasota and Manatee counties have established a strategic approach toward safety. From agencies that heighten storm preparedness to establishments that work to create safer schools and workplaces, you’ll have greater peace of mind on Florida’s West Coast.

A Strategic Approach to Safety
Florida’s West Coast is well-equipped to handle any challenge — whether nature-related or man-made. Florida Disaster maintains a fund with a $7 million annual budget to promote property resilience and provide residents throughout the state with education and resources. Manatee County provides a comprehensive list of emergency planning resources, including a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) that brings their expertise in fire safety, medical assistance and more into neighborhoods and workplaces across the region.
Neighborhoods You Can Thrive In
From neighborhood safety to school safety to preventing discrimination against LGBTQ+ and other marginalized groups, Sarasota and Manatee Counties continue to create an environment where everyone feels welcome. Near Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch maintains one of the safest communities in the region while North Port, Venice and Siesta Key have some of the lowest property and crime rates in the U.S. Organizations like Equality Florida and Florida Rising advocate for laws that protect against injustice toward all races, ethnicities, gender identities and sexual orientations.
